OUR ROOMS

The 2nd district of Lyon is situated at the southern extremity of the Presquile formed by the Saône and the Rhône. The Presquile is situated between the Rhône and the Saône and is the central part of Lyon. The Presquile links one part of the first and second districts and is in high demand by students as it is easy to get back and forth at any hour by subway, bike or on foot.
It’s the heart of Lyon, one of the best shopping areas with numerous stores, pedestrian streets (Victor Hugo avenue and Rue de la République). It also has the largest square in Europe known as the Place Bellecour which has in its centre, the famous statue of Louis XIV.
One part of this district to the south has seen a new project emerge called “Confluence” which means meeting of the two, which refers to both rivers. It is an urban renewal project for the centre of Lyon with new accommodation, office buildings and shopping centres which include modern and colourful architecture. You can reach this area by taking a ferryboat.
